Each day I tell my class we have a goal. The goal of the day is usually something I come up with that I believe my students need to work on. One of the goals that stood out to me was to work on having a positive attitude. We usually state examples of our goal and plan to use it throughout the day.
Sometimes my students are successful at the goal and sometimes they are not.
In life are we setting goals on a daily? Think about it. If you set a goal to have a positive attitude regardless of the many obstacles set in your path daily. How would your day change?
As a teacher, I deal with academic, behavior, and peer challenges. If I were to let all of these challenges affect me everyday and take them negatively I would be in a deep depression.
My attitude affects everyone I talk too. Yes sometimes I have my days where I don’t want to talk to anyone, I just want to be negative to everybody. When ever I do that I always feel bad because I know how contagious that attitude is.
My inner most faith is what keeps me happy. Sometimes I mess up because I think many people have the same mindset as me. If I’m going through a huge challenge I know who exactly to call and who not to call to help me through. Even then I know
1Peter 5:8 says,”Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.”
My problems and issues do not belong to man they belong to God. Me even sharing my problems with others is only sufficient if God has the last word.
I devote myself to growing. Any challenges that come my way I think of them as growing experiences. If I made it out then I can grow from it. If I can take away anything from it, I can grow from it.
Like I tell my students take a deep breathe and smile. Persevering through obstacles is a challenge. Not always will there be someone to listen and have words of encouragement. You sometimes have to worry about yourself and find your positivity. However you choose. It is contagious!
